As engineers work to protect oceans, they also search for cleaner ways to move across them. The challenge connects sustainable transportation with environmental responsibility, showing how engineering solutions can reduce pollution while supporting ocean cleanup efforts. Students explore how buoyancy, balance, and stability help engineers design floating structures that work with water instead of against it. Our little engineers will focus on designing structures that create shelter, space, and stability for living systems. They will explore how waves and flowing water can be transformed into usable electricity. They will design protective systems that allow scientific instruments to measure ocean conditions while surviving waves, debris, and sea life. And also, students design solar-powered marine systems that float, balance, and move using renewable energy. These sessions blend junior?level and apprentice?level activities, with lessons tailored to your child’s age and skill level.
