DON'T GET FOOLED! BAD SCIENCE AT THE MOVIES

ID : 64256
« back to classes page
This spring, we are pairing our popular monthly sky tours with astronomy topic talks and full dome
planetarium presentations. Each evening will begin with an immersive planetarium presentation about
a different astronomical topic. Next, we will take you on a tour of the current skies, highlighting visible
planets, deep sky objects, and any upcoming special astronomical events. Feel free to ask your
astronomy questions throughout the night! (Ages 10 – Adult)

Everyone loves a great sci-fi movie, but not every movie does its best to show you accurate science. Join
us as we discuss the science in movies like Gravity, Interstellar, The Martian, and others. We will use the
resources of the dome to show some great examples and let you sound like an expert next time you
discuss your favorite movie. We will finish with a tour of the springtime night sky.
