Using Western and Eastern exercises, visualizations, and cues, this course will first teach you to use focus, the breath, and new concepts of “strength” and “stretch” to improve posture. With a newfound awareness of posture, we will then create healthy patterns of sitting, standing, and moving. This class will provide the foundations to use posture to improve daily function and to help alleviate postural-related pain. At the heart of improving postural awareness lies the desire to study oneself –this course simply offers you the chance to get to know yourself better. This course will be physically demanding so please come to class with an ability to stand for 90 minutes.
