Functional Posture is an exercise-based course designed to improve how you use posture to function in daily life. Using Western and Eastern exercise, visualizations, and cues, this course will first teach you to use focus, the breath, and new concepts of “strength” and “stretch” to improve posture. With a newfound awareness of posture, we will then create healthy patterns of movement, including but not limited to squatting, lunging, overhead reaching, and lifting. This class will provide the skills to use posture to improve daily function and to help alleviate postural-related pain. This course will be physically demanding so please come to class with an ability to stand for 90 minutes and a desire to improve how you move.
