You've spent months or years writing and now you're ready to draw the interest of editors, agents and/or publishing houses. Perhaps you just started writing and want increase your changes of getting your work published.
In this motivational class you will learn techniques on all forms of writing and how the publishing process works. You'll write and refine the most important selling tool for your work-the query letter. The class touches on the many avenues for publishing short nonfiction pieces, memoir writing, creating effective dialogue, how to sell nonfiction and fiction books. You will also gain a realistic understanding of how to thoroughly research the market.
This course does not include reviewing/editing student projects, but you will write and receive feedback on writing exercises and assignments related to your project. Self publishing is touched on but the focus of this class is on traditional publishing. There is a $10 materials fee due at time of registration.
