MARCH SKY TOUR - CONJUNCTION

ID : 58507
« back to classes page
This winter and spring, we are pairing our popular monthly sky tours with astronomy topic talks and full dome planetarium shows.  We will take you on a tour of the current skies, highlighting visible planets, deep sky objects, and any upcoming special astronomical events. Once you've had your introductory tour, feel free to ask your astronomy questions! We'll use our state of the art planetarium visualization system to take you to see objects of curiosity and wonder.  Each evening will conclude with an immersive planetarium presentation about a different astronomical topic.

This March, sky watchers will be trying to catch sight of the triple conjunction of Jupiter, Saturn and Mars in the early morning sky.  The moon will join them and make for a rare and spectacular view if you know when and how to see these solar system beacons.  This program will explain all about these rare events called conjunctions.  We will also explore spectacular conjunctions in both the past and the future, what people read into these occurrences, and the real science of how the planets interact.
